Futurity
Eligibility Criteria:
- The winning
bidder will be able to enter the foal in the
in-hand trail futurity, as long as, the
resulting foal meets the TFQHA foundation
requirements.
- The stallion
owner, whose stallion receives a winning bid, is
eligible to enter one (1) foal, from their
stallion in the 2008 futurity, as long
as, the resulting foal meets the TFQHA
foundation requirements.
- Other foals
from the nominated stallion in the 2008 breeding
season are eligible, as long as, the resulting
foal meets the TFQHA foundation requirements,
and an additional $50 entry fee for each foal is
paid.
- Donated
stallions need NOT be registered with NFQHA or
FQHR; however, the resulting foal must be
eligible to be registered with NFQHA or FQHR. If
the stallion and/or foal are not going to be
registered with NFQHA or FQHR, owners must
provide a copy of the AQHA registration papers
and a 7-generation pedigree in order for the
foal's foundation percentage to be computed. If
the percentage falls within the TFQHA guidelines
for foundation, the foal will then be eligible
for the futurity.
Futurity Revenue
& Distributions:
- Half of the
winning bid amount goes to the futurity for the
designated year. The other half of the winning
bid goes to the TFQHA general fund for awards,
prizes, operating expenses, etc.
- Half of the
additional foal entry fee ($25), see #3 listed
above, goes to the futurity for the designated
year. The other half of the additional entry fee
goes to the TFQHA general fund for awards,
prizes, operating expenses, etc.
- The weanling
awarded first place by the show judge will be
given a check in the amount equal to 40% of the
Futurity revenue for that designated year.
- The weanling
awarded second place by the show judge will be
given a check in the amount equal to 30% of the
Futurity revenue for that designated year.
- The weanling
awarded third place by the show judge will be
given a check in the amount equal to 20% of the
Futurity revenue for that designated year.
-
The weanling
awarded fourth place by the show judge will be
given a check in the amount equal to 10% of the
Futurity revenue for that designated year.
Foundation
Requirements
TFQHA uses the
same criteria for determining foundation percentage
that the Foundation Quarter Horse Registry uses,
with very few changes:
- Horse must be
registered with AQHA;
- No
thoroughbred blood closer than the 4th
generation;
- The first
27,000 horses registered with AQHA are
considered foundation;
- Your horse
must have at least 75% quarter horse blood in
order to be considered foundation;
- Three Bars
(TB) IS considered a thoroughbred and not a
foundation quarter horse;
- Horses that
are Impressive-bred are eligible to show at our
shows if they qualify as foundation and are HYPP
N/N.
